Charles University in cooperation with other partners, will organize summer school of post mining restoration 8th – 12th June 2020.
Summer school will give you inside in complex approaches in restoration of post mining ecosystem and recovery of post mining landscape.
We will discuss aim of post mining ecosystem restoration (What we want to achieve, from safe and sane to functional ecosystem and societal consensus) in framework of mine closure.
We will briefly introduce theoretical principles of ecosystem recovery and apply them on post mining sites
Then we briefly mention Formation of post mining landscape in context of mining technology and effect of mining on individual components of ecosystem.
Finally we will deal in detail in development of individual component of ecosystem namely soil and vegetation in context of developing major types of terrestrial ecosystem, forest close to natural habitats and agroecosystem. Focus will be paid also on restoration of lakes, watercourses and other aquatic habitats.
